The International Day of Radiology is an event celebrated annually to promoting the role of medical Imaging in present-days healthcare. It celebrates on 8 November annually around the Worldwide. And it coincides with the anniversary of the discovery of X-rays. In 2012 the International Day of Radiology was first presented as a joint activity, by the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR), with the full collaboration and participation of the International Society of Radiology (ISR), as well as umbrella organizations on all continents. The European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS) and the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) also support the International Day of Radiology.
Medical imaging is one of the most thrilling and developing Discipline in healthcare. And this is a field of great activity in term of technological and biological research. X-rays, ultrasound, MRI Scans and other many medical imaging technologies and as well as, the eye-catching images related with them but the exact motive and value of these services are not widely spread.
Why International Day of Radiology celebrated on 8 November
We choose this day because on 8th November 1895 Wilhelm Conrad Rontgen discovers the existence of X-rays, as a day of action and awareness. On that day they were effectively laying the foundation for the new medical discipline of radiology. The International Day of Radiology is a successor to the European Day of Radiology which was set afloat in 2011. It’s a great time to celebrate the Radiology to alert the world to the stunning medical, scientific and even in artistic possibilities of medical imaging. And they highlight the essential role of Radiologist play in the healthcare team in countless medical scenarios.

On this year we are collaborating with the European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR). National radiological societies, radiological subspecialty societies, radiographers’ societies & allied sciences societies from all around the world will be invited to participate in International Day of Radiology, and many of them will arrange their activities like open addresses, department open days, national media appearances, and press occasions.
